Drink: Old-Fashioned.
Overall: 4 out of 6 drinks.
Drinking Game:
- Take a drink for every piece of Gosling's dating advice.
- Every time someone cries.
- Every time Emma Stone looks disappointed.
- Every time Steve Carell fucks up a situation he could have scored in.
- Every time someone drinks in the film.
So for today’s blog post I’ll be viewing one of the few chick flicks I’m actually willing to watch: Crazy Stupid Love. Basically it’s a cute light hearted film with a pretty incredible cast. It includes Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, and Emma stone just to name a few of the top ones.
Along with this romantic comedy we'll be mixing one of my favorite drinks, an Old-Fashioned. First a little explanation about a drink you've probably only seen being drank in Mad Men in the eloquent hands of Don Draper. However I assure you that you will enjoy this drink just as much while laughing as you would settling advertising campaigns.
It's not as painful as it looks. |
Firstly let's gather what you'll need, this is a bit more complicated than the average drink.
Ingrediants:
- Club Soda (Any Brand)
- 3 shakes of Angostura Cocktail Mix (Found at your local store)
- 1 sugar cube broken into two pieces.
- 2 ounces Booker's Bourbon (run's a little high but worth it)
- Whiskey glass
It should look like this |
Instead of the usual format, I’m gonna approach things a little differently. You don’t want to hear me chat on and on about the synopsis of the film so I’m just gonna give you the pertinent details.
Thing's to toast to:
- Ryan Gosling teaching Steve Carell to pick up women. (and us too!)
- Fantastic fashion advice.
- Steve Carell picking up woman (and hilarious results!)
- A big ass twist!
- Emma stone and Ryan Gosling partly naked.
- Three way dude fight.
- Ryan Gosling with his shirt off.
- Ryan Gosling with his shirt on.
Thing's to look away and drink to:
- Really confusing plot line when drinking.
- Kinda just a light romantic comedy, not much substance.
- Ending was happy but kind of unfulfilling.
- Carell's character is kind of more pathetic than relatable.
- I found Julianne Moore's acting to be kind of less than stellar.
